Adger Curtis Burns, 85, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Friday March 18, 2011 at Elizabeth House.
A lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Curtis and Lela Burns. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Burns and a sister, Hazel Lanning.
He retired from Cranston Printworks and loved spending time fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Saluda.
He is survived by two daughters, Janet Hill and her husband Gary of Travelers Rest, SC and Sharon Dalton and her husband Roy of Hendersonville; one son, Carl Burns and his wife Joan of Hendersonville; five sisters; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Park and Elizabeth House for their loving care and kindness.
A funeral will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the church. Memorials can be sent to Four Seasons Compassion for Life 571 South Allen Rd. Flat Rock NC 28731.
Dear Carl,Janet,Sharon, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad and mom. I did not hear about either one til the funerals had already passed. I would have been there to pay my respects I loved your mom and dad they were always very special people in my life no matter how long between times i saw them they were always very kind to me your mom always reminded me of my pappaw hubert they looked so much alike. your mother was a beautiful lady and very proud. she was a very special lady. So sad to hear of Adger’s passing. Growing up on Green River I looked up to Adger. He was older and very mature. He always set the example for the other young people to follow. He remained a good friend the rest of his life. He will be missed. Freddy
