Adrian Villarreal, known affectionately as AJ, passed away tragically on August 25, 2023, at the age of 36. He was born on March 4, 1987, in Haskell, Texas, and his life was cut short in Myrtle Beach, SC.
AJ had a zest for life and a deep love for the outdoors. He found solace and joy in activities such as weightlifting and sports. His commitment to physical fitness reflected his strong determination and disciplined nature. Additionally, AJ held a profound Christian faith and dedicated himself to spreading God’s word. His unwavering belief was an integral part of his life and influenced his interactions with others.
Adrian Villarreal joins his beloved mother, Faye Serna Villarreal, his grandmother, Elena Tonche Villarreal, and his cousin, Ramzie Ramirez, in eternal rest. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Above all, AJ cherished his children dearly. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughters, Nashala Villarreal of Asheville, NC, and Heaven Villarreal of Saluda, NC, as well as his sons, Adrian (Hayden) Villarreal of Mars Hill, NC, and Amon Villarreal of Forest City, NC. AJ eagerly anticipated the arrival of his first grandchild, Evangeline Skye Villarreal.
AJ’s passing is mourned by his surviving family members and friends. AJ will be greatly missed by his father, Adrian Villarreal Sr. and his grandmother, Guadalupe Salinas; sisters, Esmarelda Villarreal, Brittnie Villarreal, Natasha Villarreal and Aliyah Ortiz, as well as his brother, Saul “Ricco” Hinson. His uncles, Angel Camacho and Fabian Serna, aunts, Elisa Serna, Rosie Gonzalez, Diana Serna, and Mary Alicia Serrato, were also deeply impacted by his loss. Among his loved ones, AJ shared a special bond with his favorite uncle, Chuco Sanchez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services to honor and remember Adrian’s life a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Back On Track Ministry with Larry Oliver officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Forest Lawn to assist with the final expenses.
Adrian Villarreal, fondly known as AJ, will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his dedication to physical fitness, and his unwavering faith. His legacy lives on through his children and the memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
Hate that you left us so soon! I am glad that you are in a better place! I hope you told your mom we miss her and told Ramzie I am okay and I miss him so much. I know your family misses you and loves you so much sir! You will be missed by many and we will keep our chin up & chest out.
