Agnes Rebekah Pridgen, 85, of Hendersonville, took her last ride with her little dog Peanut, after a brief illness August 28th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Elkins and Sallie Kate Elkins; her husband James “Pops” Pridgen; and her son Joseph Wise.
In her younger years, she loved to roller skate and play basketball. She loved her friends and had many throughout her life as you would see through the countess picture albums she filled year after year.
In her mid-life, she drove a taxi service for industrial services, which she loved and is where she met her husband, Jim. She loved to drive and continued to drive until her last few months. She always said she was the best female driver in Henderson County.
She loved to laugh, had a great sense of humor, and she never met a stranger. When you showed up at her home with a broken spirit, she held no judgement, only space at her table and a bed to sleep in. Her life was full of love and helping others. She was love.
Agnes is survived by her brother Harrison Elkins and wife Jessie; her children, Becky Meadows and husband Sammy, Kenneth Wise and wife Dianne, and Tommy Wise of Hendersonville; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2pm Wednesday, September 7th, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers please make donations to her favorite charity Hendersonville Rescue Mission.
The WestRock Family sends our sincere condolences to James and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
We are all better for having known Agnes and her loving ways. We are all at a loss with her passing.
