Anna M. Brown, 83, of Hendersonville, formerly of Mt. Tabor, NJ, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Elizabeth House after an extended illness. A native of Morris County, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Anna Bateman. She worked as a volunteer with Telephone Pioneers of America in New Jersey and Asheville, as well as other local organizations. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and nana.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Dudley R. Brown; two daughters, Sharon Chapman and Linda White, both of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Josh White and his wife Kristine of Hickory, Skylar OíNeil and her husband John of York, SC, Kris Chapman of St. Louis, MO, and Tim Schrank of Charlotte.
A funeral will be at 3:00 pm Thursday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel. Chaplain Alan Taylor will officiate. A private entombment will follow the service in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm prior to the service in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
