Annie Rhodes Morrison, 85, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 5, 2011 following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Buford and Dollie Rhodes, and the wife of the late Cecil M. Morrison who died in 1982. She was a loving wife, mother, and caregiver for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for many years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda M. Baldwin, and two brothers, Albert and Willard Rhodes.
Survivors include her two sons, James Monroe Morrison, Charles Howard Morrison, both of Hendersonville; two brothers, Donald Rhodes and his wife Barbara, Rev. O.D. ìDarrellî Rhodes and his wife Bernice; three sisters, Dorothy Justus, Wilsie Davis, Christeen Rhodes all of Hendersonville; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 3:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The Revs. Darrell Rhodes and Harold McKinnish will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm prior to the service in the chapel.
The Morrison family and the McKinney have been friends for many years! I will certainly miss Annie, but now she is rejoicing with many family and friends-one of which is my Mom, Louise McKinney. I will always remember Annie’s cooking and her great laugh. I am thinking of all of you during this sorrowful time. May God bless and keep you always.
