Retired Army SFC Arthur D. Loveland died Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born December 6, 1920 in Corry, PA, the son of Clarence C. Loveland and Grace Love Loveland.

He was an Army veteran, retiring after over 20 years of service as a SFC Communications Chief. Following his military career, he worked for Dupont, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Hendersonville American Legion Post# 77 and a life member of the Hendersonville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post# 5206. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Houge Loveland, wife Thelma H. Loveland; two sons, Ronald K. Loveland and Dennis D. Loveland and a brother, Joseph Loveland.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Loveland Aeppli and her fiancÈ Kenneth Mills of Pace, FL; step-son, Dr. Stephen Dorman of Wisconsin; daughter in-law, Betty Loveland of Mount Vernon, WA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a very special friend and companion, Gladys B. Ruff.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 25, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Magnet officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Hendersonville VFW Post# 5206, American Legion Post# 77 and Chapter 14 of the DAV. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G. St. Suite 700 Washington, DC 20005.
