Barbara Elaine Sloan Grindstaff, 74, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Elizabeth House.
She was a daughter of the late Jay and Eva Sloan.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Sloan.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, Christian and friend. She was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Floyd Grindstaff; two sons, Robert Grindstaff and wife Melinda of Hendersonville and Kevin Grindstaff and wife Patricia of Irmo, SC; two sisters, Eva Jean Hall of Orlando, FL and Juandaline West and husband J.C. of Franklin, KY; three grandchildren, Morgan of Hendersonville, and Wes and Michaela of Irmo, SC; her mother-in-law, Hazel Grindstaff of Mars Hill, NC and several Nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Hendersonville Church of Christ. Mr. Steve Teel and Mr. Jerry Senn will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Four Season Compassion for Life 571 South Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731 or Palmetto Bible Camp.

I am so sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. My prayers are with you. In case you are not sure who this is-I used to run Uno Grocery many years ago. Barbara was always such a wonderful lady. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. May God’s loving arms go around all of you with the loss of your wife, Floyd and your mother Kevin and Robert. I just learned of Barbara’s passing. I played with her & her sisters growing up & we all graduated from FSHS together. We have been apart for many years but I still considered her a good friend. The memorial video brought back a lot of happy memories. My thouhts & prayers are with the entire family. God Bless

I wanted you all to know how much we will miss seeing Barbara at the office, always smiling no matter how bad she felt.
