Barry Weissman, 75, of Hendersonville, passed away on September 4, 2022. He was the son of the late Daniel and Sylvia Weissman.
Born in Brooklyn, New York and previously living in Florida, Barry received a BA in Accounting, a Masters at Barry University, and an Ed. S. at Nova University. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, he was an educational administrator for Broward County Schools where he directed the apprenticeship and construction fields in South Florida. Prior to that, he taught elementary school as well as ESOL to adults. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Asheville in Mills River, and his passion was classic cars and University of Miami football.
Barry adored his family and was the rock everyone leaned on when times were tough. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
Barry is survived by his wife of 15 years, Theresa Weissman; his daughters, Nicole Serralta (Jorge) of Roanoke, TX and Stephanie Ceron (Alex) of Coconut Creek, FL; his grandchildren: Dylan Serralta, Alexander Ceron, Jr., Xena Ceron, Mattheo Alexander, Vanessa Studnick, and Journie O’Bryan; and his sister, Janet Kramer of Piermont, NY.
In addition to his parents, Barry is predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Harriet Weissman.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9th from 11:00am – 1:00pm. An interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville at 2:00pm. Those who wish to join the interment may ride in procession with the family.
