Beatrice Nix Beeler

Beatrice Nix Beeler, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 23, 2015. Born in Satolah, Georgia on Sept. 28, 1922, she was one of 11 children born to the late Rev. James Oscar and Marguerite Neely Nix. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Swan Gray Beeler.

She attended Tamassee DAR School. She retired after 48 years with National Geographic headquarters in Washington, DC. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and active in the Life Seekers Sunday School Class. For years, she was an active member of the DAR.

She is survived by a brother, Bill Nix and his wife Connie, of High Point; and two sisters Thelma Smith of Bishopville, SC, and Betty Zane Woodall of Kings Mountain; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff of Four Seasons Hospice and Life Care Center for their care and support of Mrs. Beeler during her illness.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, February 28th at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Holland officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1-2:00pm at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 312 5th Ave. W, Hendersonville, NC 28739, or Tamassee DAR School, 195 Bumgarner Drive, Tamassee, SC 29686.

I only knew Miss Bea while she was at Life Care Center as she was my mom’s roommate. She always had a kind word, a ready smile and loving goodbye. I regret not meeting her earlier but know she set a wonderful example to me. Peace with with the family.

Mrs. Beeler was such a wonderful lady and I feel privileged to have been able to care for her. She was so very sweet and she will be missed. Her family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Mrs.B heaven is a little sweeter with you there. Becky and myself will miss you dearly. I am so glad that in life our paths crossed. May God bless each of the family at this time. We will see you again in heaven.
