02/07/2014 - 02/09/2014

Benjamin Harding Holbert, infant son of Craig and Kelly Holbert of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, February 9, at Mission Hospital. In only 2 days, he showed us he was a true “warrior”, taught us how precious life can be, and was loved and treasured by many.

He is survived, in addition to his parents, by three sisters, Dianna, Brooklyn, and Emily; his paternal grandparents, Tracey and Harold Holbert, paternal great-grandmothers, Jean Morrow and Burdette Holbert; paternal aunt, Lecretia “Kiki” Holbert; maternal aunts and uncles, Dean & Stephanie Blakeslee, Donna & Ginery Twichell, Frank & Shurl-Lyn Wiltse, Jimmy & Vanessa Fedor, John & Judy Fedor, “Bitsie” & Gary Scott, Susan & George Hanstine and their families.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mimi and Norman “B” Blakeslee, and Dr. Richard and Charlotte Fedor. A funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, February 14, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Pastor Jeremy Heiny will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive guests for 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Benjamin’s name may be made to the NICU at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. The family is extremely grateful to the teams of doctors and nurses who cared so much for Benjamin while he was with us and cried alongside of us when he couldn’t fight any longer.

The pain of losing a loved one can be overwhelming, especially a baby.

Our heavenly Father promises us that very soon he will ‘swallow up death forever, and wipe the tears from all faces’ Isaiah 25:8.

What a wonderful future hope that is.

There is much Bible based comfort to be found on the website http://www.jw.org

Dear Kelly & Craig and girls,

Again, we wish we could be with in your time of grieving. Though we did not get to meet Benjamin I feel so close to him after following his short life through your pictures and words of love. I believe he is with your mom and dad and so many more of the family who have already gone home. And of course Benjamin rests in the Light and arms of Jesus. You are never far from our thoughts and prayers in these days and in the days ahead as you mourn your precious son. We pray that you are able to find comfort in the love and peace only our Saviour can give. We love you, Sherrie & Walter
