Benjamin S. Hall, 84, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Spring Arbor East after a period of declining health. A native of Aurora, NC, he lived in Jacksonville, FL prior to moving to Henderson County in 1978. He was a son of the late William and Girtha Mae Kirman Hall, and was also preceded in death by brothers, James and Rodney Hall, and sisters, Girtha Wyatt, Frances Skogman, and Clara Hall.

He was a Lt. Commander with the Navy, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam eras. Following retirement, he was a realtor with ERA in Hendersonville. He was a member of Sertoma and on the board of directors for Vocational Solutions (formerly SEACO). He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing with his son, and loved spending vacations together with his family in his mountain cottage. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Frances Hall; a son, Darrel James Hall and his wife Sandy of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Pamela Ann Evors and her husband Ronnie of Jacksonville, FL, Cheryl Jean Hall of Asheville; two grandchildren, Timothy Evors, Eric Hall and his wife Beth; a brother, Marshall K. Hall and his wife Wilma of Pine Bluff, NC; a sister, Elsie Hall of Salt Lake City, UT; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Friday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Don Taws will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service in the chapel. Military honors will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post #77, Hedrick-Rhodes VFW Post #5206, and DAV Chapter 14.

We have so many beautiful memories of spending time with Ben,, I can’t begin to write them all down. We were so blessed to have known him as he was a wonderful person. He is gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace uncle Ben.
