Betty Guthrie Neff, age 84, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 01, 2024, at The Greens at Hendersonville. Born on October 01, 1939, in Marietta, South Carolina to the late James “JP’ and Brunnie Guthrie, Betty dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home as a homemaker and providing exceptional care for children.

 

Betty’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found solace and community at Balfour Baptist Church. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

 

Betty is reunited in heaven with her dear husband, Raymond Neff, Sr.; and her three cherished sons, Raymond Neff, Jr., Brian Neff, and Warren Neff.

 

She is survived by her loving son, James Travis Neff of Hendersonville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Danielle Travis, Tanner Neff, Will Neff, Melondy Tabor, and Ashli Evans; three great-grandchildren, Jadyn Shook, Ella Travis, and Sierra Juarez; sister, Lee Looper of Marietta, South Carolina; brother, Clyde Worthy of Marietta, South Carolina; and her devoted friend of over 50 years, June Pruitt.

 

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Raymond, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.

I am so sorry Travis. I have so many wonderful memories growing up with Betty as my second mother. She always shared her love and kindness. Heaven has gained a sweet and wonderful angel!
