Betty L. Ablin, 78, of Hendersonville, went to meet our Lord, Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her home following a prolonged illness. A native of Hartville, MO, she lived the past three years with her daughter, Sharis Myers in Hendersonville. She was the daughter of the late Charley and Opal Eaton, and the wife of the late Leo Ablin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chester Charles “C.C.” Ward Ablin; and two beloved brothers, Bill and Doyle Eaton. She attended the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bill D. Ablin and his wife Terry of Kirkwood, MO; two daughters, Sharis J. Myers and her husband Dr. Ray B. Myers of Hendersonville, Carla K. Jamesand her husband Gary of Lee’s Summit, MO; a brother, Don Eaton and his wife Esther of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Ben Myers, Jen Myers, Betty Nichole James, Taylor James, Alex Ablin; three great-grandchildren, Mae Myers, Tomas Yslas and Josh Mejia; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2009, in the Brunson Memorial Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. Reverend Debra Gaddy will officiate. Betty’s earthly remains will be inurned in Waynesville Memorial Park, Waynesville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Bldg. 1, Asheville, NC 28801. Guests may sign a register book at www.forestlawnhendersonville.com.

Forest Lawn Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sharis I am so sorry for your loss. I know the days before now have been hard and the days after are going to be hard but if you let him, God will hold your hand when you need it most.Ishould have stayed in touch so maybe I could have helped you in some way.
