Betty Sue Pruitt Brown, 78, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 5, 2009, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1930 to the late Alonzo and Gladys Pruitt. She resided in Henderson county all her life. She loved to sing, laugh and cook. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother, who was dearly loved by her husband and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Paul Tankersley, and a brother, Harold Pruitt.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, J.V. Brown; children, Carolyn Cox, Gary Brown, Rhonda O’Connor, Sheila Barnwell and Glenda Tankersley; three brothers, Alonzo, Jr., Norman and Jerry Pruitt; a sister, Sybil Laughter; nine grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Victory Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times will be at her home. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. Guests may sign a register book at www.forestlawnhendersonville.com.
