Bobbie Gail Gilbert Wyatt, 67, was called home by her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November, 4, 2009 and slipped quietly away. Her work here on earth is done.

She was born and raised in Rutherford County, NC, where she attended Harris School. Following her childhood dreams of becoming a wife and mother, she married William Perry Wyatt of Forest City, NC in 1958 and they moved to Brevard for him to begin his career at EI DuPont. In 1963 they moved to Hendersonville and made their home there. Bobbie Gail was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother who always faithfully supported her family and friends. She loved and was loved by all of her extended family and many friends.

She attended Valley Hill Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she worked in the day care and taught childrenís Sunday school. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Mission Church in Pisgah Forest, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband and best friend of 51 years, Perry Wyatt; her daughter, Barbara Bailey and her husband Pat of Hendersonville, NC; her son Eddie Wyatt and his wife Dianna of Candler, NC and her youngest son Jeff Wyatt and his wife Teena of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Tiffany Cole Bailey of Hendersonville, NC, Justin Hunter Wyatt and Cory Gilbert Wyatt of Charleston, SC; her brother Curtis Gilbert and his wife Sue of Chesnee, SC; her sister Hazel Howard and her husband Bud of Forest City, NC; a sisters-in-law Cindy Campbell and her husband Clarence of forest City, NC and Joan Shytle and her husband Bobby of Forest City, NC; a very special brother-in-law Jack Wyatt of Brevard, NC and many nieces and nephews.

She was greeted in heaven by those who preceded her in death, her parents, Clyde and Maude Gilbert, father-in-law Rev A.M. Wyatt and mother-in-law Leona Wyatt, a granddaughter Megan Elizabeth Wyatt, a dear friend Louise Hill, a sister-in-law Mary Randall and husband Bobby and a nephew Doug Randall and many more.

From the beginning when Bobbie Gail was diagnosed with lung cancer, our family, friends and the community surrounded us with hope, kindness and prayers. The outpouring of generosity and support has enriched our lives beyond words.

Bobbie Gailís personal fight to beat lung cancer has come to an end but her spirit and memories will live on forever. She now breathes easy and walks with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lung cancer did not define Bobbie Gail as a person but it was a part of her life that changed things dramatically. As a community you have been there for Bobbie and her family when we needed you most. Our deepest gratitude goes out to Calvary Baptist Mission Church, Mud Creek Baptist Church, Balfour Baptist Church, Church of God of Prophecy, St. Maryís, of GA, Grace Baptist Church of Asheville, NC as well as many other churches, family and friend that have been diligently praying.

Special thanks to Dr. Medina and Staff, Dr. McCullough and staff, Dr. Clary and staff, Dr. Murphy and staff, Lynn Hergert, Bobbie Exine, Dr. Lisa Perino and the rest of the staff at Four Seasons Hospice. Thank you to all the family and friends who have been there for us.

A service to honor her life will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mortuary. The Reverends Leo Worley, Pete Lee and Robert Hefner will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life 571 South Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731, the American Red Cross or The American Cancer Society.

Dear Barb,

God sure knew what he was doing when he brought you into my life close to twenty years ago.We have been through many events over the course of these years and by knowing you and your wonderful family, I can say I am a better person for it. You and Pat have always been there for me, now it’s my turn to be there for you. My heart breaks for your loss. You, Eddie and Jeff could not have been blessed with a more loving Mother. She will always live on through her children, Grandchildren and ofcourse your wonderful Father. Anytime I want to see your Mom’s smiling face, I can just look at you. May God be with you and your family during this time of grief. You are so very dear to my heart and I thank God that you are part of my life.

God Bless. I love all of you.
