Brian M. Goldstein, 53 of Hendersonville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island he was a son of Jerald and Shelly Goldstein of Summerfield, Florida, and had been a resident of Hendersonville for 14 years. He was employed by Billyís Wrecker service, but his favorite job was being Papa. He was a devoted family man and a friend to anyone he met. He was a loyal Patriots fan.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Jonathan Henry.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, Cheryl Smathers Goldstein; his children Marc and Gina Kauffman and, Adam Goldstein all of Albany, NY, Tara Goldstein and her daughter Lilly of Hendersonville, Joshua Goldstein of Greensboro, Amanda Smathers of Hendersonville, Lauren Smathers of West Palm Beach, Fla., Kristen Belk of Hendersonville, Heather Belk of Greenville, SC, Courtney Capps, Laci Haynes and Sarah Haynes all of Hendersonville; several grandchildren; and a brother Scott Goldstein.
A funeral will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Chaplain Steve Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
Cheryl. We never met but I was a very close friend of Brian’s. I am so sad for your loss as I am for losing a close friend. We spoke often on the phone. If you need anything feel free to ask.

Even though I did not know Brian personally, my son, Billy spoke very highly of him and I know Billy and his entire crew are so saddened of his loss – not just for losing a worker, but for losing such a dear friend. My heart goes out to you and your family! May God bless and comfort you!
