Carolyn G. Phillips, 67, of Deep Gap went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Care Partners Solace Center after an extended illness. A native of Transylvania County, Carolyn lived in Henderson County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Ford and Leota Owen Galloway, and the wife of the late Claude E. Phillips who died in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Galloway. Carolyn loved working at Hebron Colony Ministries. She cherished her time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Taylor and her husband Barry of Hendersonville; her son, Randy Tritt and his wife Tere of Black Mountain; two step-sons, C.E. Phillips and his wife Laurie of Deep Gap, Randy Phillips of Hendersonville; her sister, Marilyn Tipton and her husband David of Hendersonville; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Pastors Danny Nelson and Don Holder will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm prior to the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Partners Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Road, Asheville, NC 28803.

My prayers and thoughts are lifted for your family. While I’ve only known Carolyn for a short time, I was impressed by the support and love I saw displayed by your family during her visits to our office. May God surround you with His peace, love and provision during this time.

Anita and family, all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers during Carolyn’s suffering. I will continue to think of and pray for you during this time of grief. You will miss her very much, but her memories will be with you until you see her again in heaven! With my love and sympathy, TaTa
