Carrie Sparks Reece, 96, of Flat Rock, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 28, 2011 after an extended illness at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation.
A native of Bakersville, she lived in Henderson County for forty-five years. She was a daughter of the late Clyde and Alice Sparks, and the wife of the late James Reece who died in 2008. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. She was a member of Upward Baptist Church and loved everyone there. She retired from Holt Hosiery Mill, and then ran a day care center for a few years. She was am avid gardener, beloved mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all. She was ìMamawî to many.
Survivors include, a son, Bob Styles and his wife Sue of Spruce Pine; two daughters, Mary Reece Sprouse and her husband Walter of Flat Rock, Carolyn Reece Ford and her husband Ron of Cleveland, TN; five granddaughters, four grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loise Hoyle of Bakersville, Lillian Wyatt of Statesville; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Upward Baptist Church. Revs. Harold Connor and Dan Blackwell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service in the church. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with a reception following at Tracy Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall. All are welcome.

Carrie was a wonderful woman I greatly enjoyed taking care of her and her husband at HHR they will be missed.
My best to the family. I always loved Carrie. I have fond memories of her and my grandmother, Georgia Morton, together.

Dear Mrs.Sprouse, not sure if you remember me but I worked for Dr. Kilgo at Hendersonville Eye Care. Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss, Mrs Reece was a very special person and I loved her dearly. She always liked to pick on me and I loved it. You and all your family are in my prayer.
