Clarence Coleman Williams, Sr., 79, of Arden, North Carolina, was promoted to Heaven on Saturday, January 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with an extended illness.
Born in Buncombe County, to the late Furman and Gladys Williams; he is also reunited in Heaven with his brothers George D. Williams, Melvin Williams, and Ted Williams; and sisters Barbara McDonald and Eva Meece.
For twenty-three years, Clarence drove a truck for consolidated freight ways. After retiring, he loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed his cabinetry work. Clarence and his wife are longtime members of Fletcher First Baptist Church. Clarence was known for his piercing blue eyes; a feature his beloved wife always found comfort in.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly sixty years, Judy Williams; daughter Jennifer and husband John Harris all of Arden, North Carolina; son Clarence Williams, Jr. “Butch” and fiancée Lyn Martin of Fletcher, North Carolina; grandchildren Westley Williams, Briana Williams, and Kaitlan Harris; and great-grandchildren Paisley E. Troughton, Lily Anna Brown and Maria Harrin. Clarence also leaves behind his brothers Furman Williams and wife Janette also of Arden and James and wife Alma Williams of Forest City, North Carolina; and sister Imogene Helms of Greensboro, North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park of Hendersonville, North Carolina, with Pastor Roy Waldroup officiating.
