Clyde “Bud” Shelton

September 30, 1936 - December 11, 2014

09/30/1936 - 12/11/2014

Clyde ìBudî Shelton, 78, of Hendersonville entered the gates of Heaven Thursday evening, December 11, 2014, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Miami, FL, he lived in Henderson County thirty-seven years. He was a son of the late Garth Shelton and Barbara Taylor, and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Shelton, and a sister, Velma Jean Griner.

Bud was a firm believer of Jesus Christ. He was devoted to his family. He thoroughly loved spending time with his family and friends. His passion was to tinker in the garage. Travel brought him great pleasure, and he was fortunate enough to have seen much of the U.S. When he was still able, he enjoyed fishing and spending time on the water. One of the greatest joys of his life was living to see his great-granddaughter, Haylen, born and enjoying her first two years together.

Survivors include his devoted wife of fifty-nine years Reita; a son, Keith Shelton of California; a daughter, Jamie Shelton Carter and her husband Robert of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Teri Carter Black, Missy Carter Chambers, and Tyler Storm; great-granddaughter, Haylen Chambers; a sister, Bobbie Jo Torres; a brother, Dr. Michael Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Reverend Chris Pace will officiate.
