Clyde William Hill II, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at his home in Hendersonville on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on September 14, 1950, in Bat Cave, NC to Clyde William and Sallie Warren Hill.
He worked for 34 years at Bryan Easler Ford and O’Reilly Auto Parts, where he developed his passion for mechanics and became a certified Ford Master Mechanic. He enjoyed his work and was recognized for his expertise and dedication to his craft.
Clyde attended Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member. His commitment to his church and community was a reflection of his kind and generous heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Colleen Hill, and their four children, Mary Sue Hill, Bridgett Pruitt (Scott), Danielle Shumaker (Marc), and Johnny Hill (Jessica). He was a devoted grandfather to Zech Pruitt, Noah Pruitt, Lucas Shumaker, Kayleigh Hill, AnnaLynn Shumaker, and James Hill. He is also survived by his brother, Johnny Warren, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy Cox. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Pastor Aaron Pryor and Evg. Mike Holcombe officiating. A visitation will be held at 2 PM prior to the service. Clyde will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the service.
I just found out Bill is gone. I’m so sorry for you, his family. Bill was a great man! He will be sorely missed. I met him many years ago at Quincy’s and then he found me again at Ingles. He gave the best hugs of anyone in the world! I’ll miss Bill and those hugs.

My condolences to the family. Bill will be greatly missed at Blossman Gas. He was my go to Ford guy when he would come and make his payments. What a joy to talk to. I will miss you my friend. Rest in Peace. .
