Cora Bell Mundy, 76, of Hendersonville, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
A native and lifelong resident of Hendersonville, she grew up in the Crab Creek community where she attended Crab Creek Church. She graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1954 where she played varsity basketball for three years. She loved gardening and devoted many hours to that end after her retirement from the General Electric Company where she worked for more than 39 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edna McDowell Bell and Frank King Bell and a much loved brother, Larry Rex Bell.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Duain of Hendersonville, her daughter Carol Nelson Anderson, son-in-law Steve, and cherished grandson, John David of Knoxville, Tennessee. She is also survived by a sister Jane Bell Huggins, sister-in-law Debbie Robertson Bell of Hendersonville and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Robert Moffatt of Asheville, NC for the care and compassion he provided during her illness. The love and support that was shown by so many of her family and friends lifted her spirits and gave her strength. Her strong faith carried her through to the end of her journey and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Kenneth Huggins, her nephew, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrenís Research Hospital or Crab Creek Baptist Church, 72 Jeter Mountain Road, Hendersonville, NC 28739.

Cora was one of our good friends, at work, and after retirement. We were amazed at the way she handled the illness that took her life.
What a wonderful example she gave of a Christian life. We will miss her.
