Debra “Debby” Hill Justus, 56, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the Elizabeth House following a courageous battle with cancer. A native and lifelong resident, she is the daughter of Jim and Faye Hill. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Deonna Constant.

Debbie was a 1982 graduate of Edneyville High School and then Blue Ridge Community College. She was employed as the office manager for Dr. Overstreet for several years, and he was wonderful to her. Debbie is a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and she had a great faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had a gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from getting to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, David Justus; children, Daniel Justus and Tracey Player; son-in-law, Michael Player; grandchildren, Maylene and Turner Player; parents, Jim and Faye Hill; brother, Scott Hill; nephews, Lee Anderson and Dillon Hill; brother-in-law, Wade Constant and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and David Justus.

A visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, followed by a memorial service starting at 2pm at the church with Reverend Steve Scoggins officiating.

Debbie’s husband David and I lifted weights together on Huckleberry mountain many years ago. I just now learned of Debbie’s passing. We moved to Helena, Montana 3 years ago and Just wanted to let David know that we are praying for you and the family. May God give you and your family peace & comfort in this time. . . .

Praying for comfort for this close knit family. Debbie blessed me with her friendship during our studies at Blue Ridge Community College. We studied, worked on projects together and shared our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. My life was richer having the opportunity to know Debby. What a beautiful soul.
There are no words to comfort you during this time, just prayers for God’s comfort to fill your hearts and souls.

Continued prayers for this precious family who have gone through so much.
Debby was the cream of the crop! To be her friend was an honor. She would always go the second mile. She was loved by many & so humble , but tough when she had to be. Major heart surgery , stage 4 cancer, so much pain but she kept fighting. Her faith & trust in God was amazing even in her darkest days.
I treasure my memories of her & so happy we know she’s in heaven. I imagine she’s looking around to see if anyone there needs anything or if she can help. That’s our sweet Debby!
With love hugs & prayers,
Martha & Jack Ruff ❤️
