Doris Ruth Moseley Gill, 81, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC, on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Edward Gill of Hendersonville; her brother Talmadge Moseley, Benjamin Moseley, Jr, Tyson Moseley; and her sister Mary Sneed.
She leaves behind her loving family of five children, Susan Gill Presley and husband Bob of Asheville, Robert Edward Gill of Hendersonville, Phillip Tyson Gill of Hendersonville, Kenneth Wade Gill and wife Kimberly of Bat Cave and Randall Scott Gill of Hendersonville; her brothers, H. B. and Carl Moseley; her sisters, Alice Batson and Sue Ann Simpson; six grandchildren, Matthew Presley, Levi Gill, Jason Gill and his wife Charity, Robbie Gill, Brian Gill, Nicholas Presley and dear family friend, Edith Fellegri.
Doris will be remembered by all for her sharp mind, keen wit and indomitable spirit which did not fail her even at the end. Doris loved gardening, sharing her sought after varieties of Iris, Daylilies and Hosta which live on in the gardens of numerous family and friends. Her other loves were cooking, sewing and quilting. A lifelong learner and avid reader of history and biography, she could talk about many subjects and never met a stranger. Her faith never wavered and she will be missed as the heart and soul of her family.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, May the 3rd at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Chaplain Alan Taylor will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

Sorry for the loss of Aunt Doris. Wish we could all be closer in this time of need, but just wanted you all to know that we are thinking of you. Giving up our parents is hard, but the memories you all have will last a lifetime.
I am so blessed to have met and grown to love Doris Gill “Grannanny” I will always remember how kind and thoughtful she was to me and how much she loved her family. I had alot of good times talking to Doris in her kitchen. My heart goes out to family and close friends that love and will dearly miss Doris Gill. Many thoughts & prayers to each of you.
