Eddie Dean Howard, 56 of Zirconia died Friday, August 29, 2014 at Asheville Specialty Hospital.
A native of Marietta, SC he was the son of the late R. B. Howard. Eddie lived most of his life in Henderson County and was a logger for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Green River Fire Department.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Missy Howard; a mother, Irene Howard of East Flat Rock; a daughter, Anna Howard Mashburn and her husband Scott of Woodruff, SC; a son, Daniel Howard and his fiancÈ Jessica of Zirconia; two grandsons, Zachary & Landon Mashburn of Woodruff, SC; a brother, Sandy Howard and his wife Rita of East Flat Rock; three sisters, Betty Howard of East Flat Rock, Ginger Bryson and her husband Dwayne of Glennville, NC, and Shawnee Hensley and her husband Jeff of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

To my dear brother you have left a big mark on my life. One thing is I want to know more about my Lord. I will miss you so much. But, Glory to God you are walking those streets of Gold. I have known Eddie for 30 years and he never met me without a smile. He had the most amazing disposition and he made people happy by just being himself. I will miss him so much and you can rest knowing that he was much loved, respected and admired.
