Edna Corn, 85, of Hendersonville, ran into the waiting arms of Jesus, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, after an extended illness. She was a daughter of the late Horace and Fannie Corn, and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harry and Dewey Corn, and her sister, Edith Case.
She was raised in the mill village of Balfour and was an employee
of Kimberly Clark. After responding to Godís call, she spent 25 years as
secretary of Balfour Baptist Church. Her life was dedicated to Christ and her work in the church. She began teaching Sunday School in 1943. She loved the youth of the Church and worked for many years with YWA. She was active with the W.M.U.
Survivors include brothers, Arthur Corn and wife, Mattie of Hendersonville,
Walter Corn and wife, Kitty of Arden; sisters, Eula Odom and Jewel Brooks of Hendersonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Balfour Baptist Church. The Revs. Travis Harrison and Joe Mullins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 prior to the service at the church, and other times at the home of Joy Brooks. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.

Miss Edna will be sorely missed as she was an inspiration to myself and many others. She was a great christian and set a wonderful example. I love her dearly and know that a true angel has entered the pearly gates.

Miss Edna knew what was important. She loved in a very big way. I rejoice today that she is with her Lord! I love you, Miss Edna!
Sorry for your loss. She was a great blessing to us growing up. I know she is now with her parents as well as mine. Am looking forward to seeing them all around the feet of Jesus. Our prayers are with you.
