Another Christian soldier has gone home. March 17, 2020, Elmer Frederick Travis (Al), went home to be with his Lord. He loved to play his guitar and sing for Jesus. He is survived by many family members in Upstate New York; his five children; many grandkids and great grandkids; Charlotte Monroe and family from Salisbury, NC; Jim and Linda Washburn of Weaverville, NC. He was dearly loved and will be missed by All.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 2pm in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Reverend Kevin Travis will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

There is no one like Jesus, there is no better friend. He’s the one I turn to I’ll trust him to the end.And when life journey is over and I cross to the other Shore.I know my friend awaits me, just inside the door.
We were sad to hear that pappaw had passed away, but we know that he is in a better place. No more pain just joy being with our Lord. He was always an outstanding christian. DeAdra and I will surely miss him. If there any thing we can do just let us know.
