Esther Pace Wilson, age 78, of Mountain Home, North Carolina, peacefully her spirit departed and is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 20, 2023, with her loving family surrounding her.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:30 pm at the Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 538 Tracy Grove Road, Hendersonville, with Reverend Richard Gardner officiating.
Esther was born July 17, 1944, in Polk County, North Carolina, to the late Claude and Inez Pace. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Olin Dewitt Wilson; daughter Teressa Wilson; brothers George, Charles, Lewis, Leverl, Sam, Ralph, Tony (CT) Pace; and sisters Flossie Gentile, Diane Byrd, Lola Gossett.
Esther was a member of Apple Valley Church of God of Hendersonville. She had worked at Diamond Brand in Naples and formed many lasting friends. After her retirement, she enjoyed planting flowers; her favorites were pansies. She liked sitting and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. Most loved by Esther was spending time with her daughters, granddaughters, and great-grandson Barrett, best known as lil dumplin.
Left to cherish Esther’s memories are her loving daughters, Vanessa Hopkins, and Jennifer Fulp and husband Kenny; her granddaughters, Haleigh and Callie Hopkins, great-grandson Barrett Turpin; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors of Missions LVAD clinic, Cancer Center, all the nurses and staff of the Heart Tower E-4, and the Four Seasons Palliative Care staff. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund, 14 Chastain Hill Rd, Mills River, NC 28759.
I just heard that Mrs Wilson passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person and a great neighbor to my Mom and Grandfather.
O what a wonderful lady. I will greatly miss her and the happy meal we never got to go get together. Ms. Esther (momma) I love you.
I loved Mis Esther she was another sister to me. When I came to work at Diamond Brand she welcomed me.We made a lot of boy scout tents together. My daughters worked there and fell in love with her to.She will be missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Norma Corn, Esther and Jennifer at Diamond Brand. We had a wonderful Diamond Brand family.
