Ethel Staggs Rogers, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. She had lived most of her life in Hendersonville. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Short and Ellen Short Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, JC Staggs and Tom Rogers. In addition, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Staggs; a sister, Betty Laughter; two brothers, Olin H. and David Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Crowe and John Michael Smith.
Mrs. Rogers loved her cat, Yeller, and her bird, Pretty Boy.
Survivors include her sons, Allen Staggs (Diane) of Saluda, NC; Charlie Staggs, of Hendersonville, NC; and Tommy Rogers (Jamie) of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Ann Gregory of Spartanburg, SC; Clara Trace of Jacksonville, FL; and Gloria Land (Steve) of Jacksonville, FL, and 18 grandchildren, 25 great-children, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 18, at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Matthew Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 17, in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.

There are really no words to express how much she meant to me. She taught me so much, was always there for me and loved me unconditionally. I miss and love you Mommy, so very much. I know you’re happy up there with Daddy, Olin, David, Jerry, your Mama and countless others that you love. I will treasure your memory and look forward to the day when I can see you and hug you again.
Grandma, I love you and gonna miss you so much. I already miss you saying I Love You, your tight hugs, your kisses,your beautiful voice. Rest in peace my beautiful Angel.
