Florence B. Steele, 87, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Elizabeth House after a period of declining health. A native of Lowell, MA, she had lived in Henderson County most of her life. She was the wife of the late James Louis Steele who died in 2004 and was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Steele.

Florence was an employee of General Electric for 27 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Bethel Wesleyan Church and a member of the Hendersonville Moose Lodge. She enjoyed working in her flower Garden.

She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Ward and her husband Dan; her three grandsons, Danny, Brian, and Michael Ward; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Haley, Hunter, Cameron, Chelsea Ward; all of Hendersonville.

A funeral service will be at 2:00pm Thursday in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2:00pm in the chapel.

Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I’ll always remember her as a great neighbor and good friend and co worker of my Mom. I pray God’s peace to you and your family.
