Frances “Peggy”  Whitson, 93, of Fletcher went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 4, 2023 surrounded by family. A native of Dickinson County, Virginia.  Peggy, lived in Henderson County since 1966. She was a daughter of the late Kennis Edmonds and Myrtle Herndon Edmonds. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Jack Whitson and daughter, Donna Harris. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well an avid gardener, who cared for and nurtured both her family and flowers. She was a former CNA at Margaret R. Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, where she performed her duties with pride and diligence.

Survivors include her sister Diane Lyons of Arden, daughter Cynthia Whitson and son Stacey Whitson of Fletcher; two grandchildren, Jamie Harris and his wife Kristie of Hendersonville, Cara Pryor and her husband Jason of Hendersonville; four great-grandchildren, Quinn and Daphne Harris, Madeline and Benjamin Pryor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville, NC.

Condolences to the family. I worked at Industrial Garment in Erwin with Peggy, she was always a delight and such an uplifting spirit. She was a dear friend and will be missed.

Peggys family, So sorry for your loss. My mother worked at Pardee Hospital also as a CNA with her. My mother is Marilyn Thompson.
She talked so much about her.
She has dementia now but remembered her. .

Cindy and all the family I am so sorry to hear about Mrs Frances. She was a very sweet lady. I always enjoyed seeing her at Forest Lawn when she would come visit your dad’s grave if she ever seen me she would always say so good to see you and give me that special hug she always referred to me as ( that tall man). I will miss seeing her but will always remember the good memories. May God bless all of you at this time
