Born in Logansport, IN, he was a son of the late Delmont and Edith Houser McClain.
After serving his country in the USCG and Merchant Marines, he worked as a painting contractor. He was a resident of Henderson County since 1997 and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen McClain; seven children and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mortuary. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Sending condolences from Etowah and Balsam Grove. Kathleen, Sarah, and Priscilla, you are in our prayers. My mom and I remember ya’ll and the girls from the summer of 1985, babysitting while ya’ll worked. I still have the little rock turtle Sarah & Priscilla gave me that summer & it sits on my mantle. Love, LaDonna (Lynne McCall) Gosnell & Donnie Vee McCall
My thoughts and prayers from Florida family and friends that can not be there.
We are sorry for your loss, our loss is HEAVEN’S gain.
We knew Bro McClain and thought the world of him, he truly was a man of GOD.
May GOD be with you at this time of your loss.
We Love You, Much!
Our deepest condolences on your loss and we wish you much happiness in memories of your father through the coming years.
