Grace Miller George, 99, of Hendersonville, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living. A native of Youngstown, OH, she lived in Bonclarken, ARP Conference Center for several years. She was the daughter of the late Howard C. Miller, MD, and Grace Montgomery Miller. She was also the wife of the late Thomas J. George who died in 1987.
She graduated from Wooster College, Wooster, OH, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the American Colonies. She enjoyed bridge, reading, spending time with her family, and was an excellent piano player and gardener. Her faith sustained her every day of her life.
Survivors include her son, Howard M. George of Flat Rock; two daughters, Carolyn E. George of Hendersonville, Linda L. Gierhart and her husband David of Caro, MI; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church in Flat Rock. Rev. John Hopkins will officiate. Interment will be in Youngstown, OH at a later date.
