Gussie Staton Jones, 90, of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Elizabeth House after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, Gussie was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie Laughter Staton, and the wife of the late Truman Jones who died in 1981. She retired from the Deli department of Ingles in 2009 following twenty-seven years of service, at the age of eighty-five. She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Gordon Jones, Kenneth Howard Jones and his wife Lois, all of Hendersonville; two daughters, Jennifer Jones Parker and her husband Ron of Cocoa, FL, Linda Jones Rhodes and her husband Michael of Hendersonville; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm prior to the service in the chapel. There will be a private graveside service in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful woman with us. I am blessed for having her in my life and the been given the privilege to call her Grandma. I will miss her Dearly.
