Guy W. Crowther, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Elizabeth House. Born in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late Robert and Marjorie Crowther. He had lived in Hendersonville for the last 10 years.
He graduated from Mount Holly, NJ and attended Spring Garden Institute for electrical traning. he later attended Temple University, joined the Air Force, serving in Japan during the Korean War. He worked as a Satellite Controller for RCA for 30 years. He had a love for music and played in many bands. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his wife Joy; two sons, Damon of Rock Hill, SC, Bradley, of Benton, AR; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Crowther, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Revs. Vic Rampey and Charles Magnet will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes VFW Post 5206 and Chapter 14 of the DAV.
Glad to have known him and know he is at peace with his Lord.
Guy will always be missed at the Storehouse, he was so congenial and reliable as a volunteer and we all loved being with him!
