Hazel Pauline Hastay, 94, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at her residence. A native of Gabarus, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late James and Annabelle MacGillivray, and the wife of the late Franklin Hastay. She was a lifelong resident of Falmouth, MA, prior to moving to Henderson County in 2006. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Hastay and his wife Jackie of Texas, Paul Hastay and his wife Nancy of Falmouth, MA; a daughter, Sandra Carpenter and her husband Gordon of Hendersonville; six grandchildren, Scott Woody and his wife Kathy of Hendersonville, Tammy Woody of Etowah, Christine Sassone and her husband Richard of Buzzards Bay, MA, Paul Hastay, Jr. of Marshfield, MA, Cheryl Hastay of Florida, Lisa Hastay of TX; and seven great-grandchildren.
No local service is planned.

Sandy & Gordon: You have our deepest sympathy. I know over the last 4 years you have had some great times and some sad times with Hazel. She will be missed by those left behind but God was ready for her. She had no more troubles, paines or hurting. She was loved.
