Huey Mckinly Marshall, 91, of Upward, awoke with Jesus December 4, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County, a son of Marida Mckinly and Cora King Marshall, born April 22, 1921. He served in the US Army, worked at Cranston Print Works, was an apple farmer and a member of Tuxedo First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; daughter, Ethel Jane; son, William Huey; granddaughter, Shirley Marshall; brother, Ray Marshall and sisters Fairlee Brown, Lois Revis, Ruth Nix and Helen Coggins.
Survivors include sons Ted (Molly) Marshall and Larry (Alida) Marshall; daughter Wilma (Tommy) Mathis; sister Iness Adkins; daughter in-law Wanda Marshall; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 6, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Mikell Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Wednesday, December 5, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Larry and Alida Marshall. We were sad to hear about Huey he was a good neighbor. Enjoyed he and Jake when they would go by the house,on the way to the garden to see how it was doing..
