ìJ.D.î John David Lance, 78, of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his home following a long illness. A native of Guymon, OK, he lived in Henderson County since 1980. He was a son of the late Monroe and Ola Lance. During the Korean War, he was stationed in England with the Air Force. He was a Jehovahs Witness. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Lance Hyde and Wilma Faye Lance Ackers.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Lance of Etowah; a son, Duane Lance and Suzan Wade of Old Town, FL; three daughters, Carol Lance of Edneyville, Susan Lance Pittman and her husband Steve of Gastonia, Robin Lance of Hendersonville; a brother, Robert Gene Lance and his wife Carol of Missouri Valley, IA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2009 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary. Brother Jim Brennan will officiate. Interment will be private in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donorís favorite charity. Guests may sign a register book at www.forestlawnhendersonville.com.

Carol and Robin I am sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He really seemed like a really cool fellow. My prayers are with you all. May God lessen your greif with each passing day.
