Jeanne Gordon LeNoir, 85, born April 24th, 1924, left this life on April 13, 2010, for the peace and happiness that she has long deserved. A Norfolk native, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Burroughs LeNoir and Walter Gordon LeNoir, and was the wife of the late William F. Gunn.
Jeanne graduated from Granby High School in 1942 and attended The College of William and Mary. Most of her years were spent loving and caring for her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Claycomb and her husband Percy, of Virginia Beach, VA, three sons, William F. Gunn, Jr. and his wife Lynda, of Fort Mill, SC, John Gunn and his wife Loretta, of Simpsonville, SC, and David Gunn of Tampa, FL.; six grandchildren Ryan, Lyndsey, Brett, Amy, Shelley and Scott; and two great grandchildren Tyler and Abby.
A graveside memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia. The Reverend John Monroe of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Percy and Nancy Claycomb.
Jeanne has been a faithful friend since our early childhood (since about 1930) when we both lived on Marshall Avenue in Brambleton. I will surely miss her.
