Joe Gilpin, 65, of Hendersonville, died Wednesday, May 22, at the Elizabeth House following a brief illness. A native of Brooksville, FL, he was a son of Joe Gilpin, Sr. of Webster, FL and Myrtice Harvey of Brooksville.
He was of the Baptist Faith and loved to fish in his free time.
Joe is survived, in addition to his parents, by his wife of 48 years, Ann Gilpin; his son, Jody Gilpin of Hendersonville; his brother, Jack L. Gilpin and his wife Mary Sue of Brooksville; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his iguana Iggy and his cockatiel Pete.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm. Sunday, May 26, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
