Joseph Siegfried Jordahl, 90, went to his heavenly home Monday April 13, 2015 while wintering in Florida. He had resided in Hawthorn Hills and more recently at Lake Pointe Landing.
Joseph (ìSigî) was born August 25, 1924 in Watertown, South Dakota, one of six
children, to the late Rev. Edward Jordahl and his wife Clara.
He joined the Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Captain until his
discharge after 13 years of service. He served in the South Pacific during
World War II, including the battle of Iwo-Jima, and the Korean War.
He worked and traveled the world over where his work with Honeywell
and Litton Industries took him.
Joseph was of Norwegian descent and a member of Reformation Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Virginia.
Survivors include his two sons, Daniel of Pennsylvania and David of Maryland, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his companion Madeline Wickham.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday May 9, 2015 at Reformation Presbyterian Church, 120 Seventh Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Memorials in his honor may be given to Reformation Presbyterian Church.
