Joy Melody Worley Brown, 48, of Zirconia went to be with the Lord Monday, June 9, 2014 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of William Decker Walden, Sr. and Hattie Walden of East Flat Rock. Joy was the wife of the late Wade Worley who died in 1998, and was also preceded in death by her baby brother, Rocky Lane Walden. She worked with the Henderson County Public Schools for twelve years. Joy was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and at times attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband, Billy D. Brown, Jr.; a son, Joshua Adam Worley of Zirconia; a daughter, Joy Autumn Worley of Zirconia; two brothers, William Decker Walden, Jr. of Fruitland, Rex Quinton Walden, Sr. of Hendersonville; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Maranatha Baptist Church with the Revs. Lewis D. Staton and Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
