June M. McGovern

June M. McGovern, 83, of Hendersonville, NC passed away quietly on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Hendersonville Health & Rehab.

She was born in Babylon, NY, and lived in Jacksonville, FL, Saluda, and Brevard before moving to Hendersonville four years ago. June was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Chandler, Jr., her sister, Eleanor Matheny and her loving daughter, Gail Lea Chandler.

June loved her family, camping, gardening, fishing, and especially taking a ride down any old dirt road in the mountains just to see where it ended.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Chandler and wife Donna of Ft Pierce, FL; David Chandler of San Jose, CA; a daughter, Janice Chandler and husband Mike of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Billy Chandler and fiancÈ Christina of Jacksonville, FL, Ryan Byrd of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a granddaughter, Melissa Coloson and husband Todd of Hendersonville; four great grandchildren, Destiny Price of Candler, NC; Denham Coloson, Tara Coloson, and Kassidy Hayden of Hendersonville; numerous loving nieces and nephews and special friends, Lilly, Harold and Sara.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, FL.
