Leland Hayes Osteen, 70, of Zirconia passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Elizabeth House following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Arthur Osteen; and Isabell Osteen Staton of Zirconia. He retired from G.E. after twenty-seven years of service. He was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church. He proudly served with the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His brother, Mack Osteen preceded him in death in 2011.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of forty-three years, Nola Maybin Osteen; a son Warren Leland Osteen and his wife Melissa of Zirconia; two daughters, Emily McCarson and her husband Jim of Newport News, VA; Shannon Phillips and her husband Clint of Zirconia; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Kaitlyn, and Emma Osteen, James, Marcus, Alexis, and Seth McCarson; Jaden and Karah Phillips; three sisters, Arnetta Mullinax, Nola Garber, Ann Lindsey, all of Zirconia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church. Revs. Shannon Owen and Dan Holbert will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post #77, Hedrick- Rhodes VFW Post #5206, and DAV Chapter 14. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

I ‘m so sorry for your lost Just found out. Its going to be hard for u an your children. But God will get u thur this An U no he’s in Heaven where there’s no more pain no more suffering.
