Leon W. Ellis, 91, of Hendersonville died Monday, October 13, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Leon retired to Hendersonville in 1987, and was a WWII Navy veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Sarah Crisp Ellis; three sons, Jerry Ellis and his wife Doreen of Galax, VA, Richard Ellis and his wife Valerie of Fayetteville, GA, Jeffrey Ellis and his wife Joan of Lake City, FL; a daughter, Tamara Hyder and her husband Wayne of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Geralda Case of Ohio; two brothers, Harold and Holbert Ellis, both of Rossville, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Craig Stepp will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Henderson County Honor Guard, 901 Ashley Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28791-1710.
