On the morning of Wednesday, December 07, 2022, Lettie Addie Flynn Qualls, age 96 of Hendersonville, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.  A native of Henderson County, she was born on October 08, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Enoch G. Flynn and Mary Bradley Flynn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Ray Qualls, who passed away on February 14, 2021; and three sisters, Nettie Duncan, Etta Blackwell and Mettie Moore.

A loving mother, Lettie took great pride in taking care of her yard and loved gardening.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and taking in the beauty and wildlife that nature had to offer.  Lettie, in her younger years, helped with many different community organizations and was a member of East Flat Rock Community Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Dunham (Dennis) of Hendersonville; one sister, Francis Mettlee Wooten of Houlton, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.  Lettie will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Thurman, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lettie’s physician, Dr. David Slawek, staff of Hendersonville Hematology & Oncology, physicians and staff at Pardee Hospital, and the staff of Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care for the extraordinary care they provided Lettie and her family during her illness and final journey.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs. Qualls’ memory are asked to consider American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 or by visiting www.cancer.org.
