Lonnie Darr, born on October 11, 1946, in Hardin, Illinois, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 77. Lonnie’s journey through life was marked by bravery, service, and unwavering dedication to his country and fellow veterans.  He was a resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Having served in both the United States Marine Corps. and United States Coast Guard, Lonnie exemplified the true spirit of a patriot and a guardian of freedom. An avid painter, photographer, and skilled player of the Native American flute, he found solace and inspiration in the beauty of creativity and music. His love for these artistic pursuits brought joy not only to himself but also to those fortunate enough to witness his talents.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Pam Darr; a dedicated sister and brother-in-law, Billie and Dale Cathorall; children Marvin Darr, Michelle Darr, and Nichole Darr; stepchildren, David Moore, Dan Moore, and Heather Moore; numerous grandchildren; nephew, Jamie Truetzschler; niece, Lori Davis; and great nieces and nephews who will always cherish his memory.
