M.L. “Meice” Hoffmeyer, 84, died at her home in Asheville on Saturday, April 17, 2010, following a prolonged illness. She was a native of Evanston, IL and a long-time resident of Wilmette, IL. She resided in NC for 24 years, previously having lived in Laurel Park and Columbus.
Meice had a long career in Wilmette School District #39, serving in the central office and successively as secretary to three elementary schools. She retired in December 1984.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert “Rob” Hoffmeyer. Survivors include her daughters, Marilee (Robert) Shore of Laurel Park, and Barbara (Terry) Costlow of Morton Grove, IL; a sister, Wynanda Helverson, of MA; and a twin sister, Betty Ann Hauser (Paul) of IL.
Private services are planned.
