On the night of Sunday, January 16, 2022, Madlyn D’Andrea Olson, age 90, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away at Pardee UNC Health Care in Hendersonville. A native of Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Alfonse and Elizabeth Lydon D’Andrea she was born on June 14, 1931.
In addition to her parents, Madlyn is preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Powers, Lois Atherton, and Elizabeth “Betty” Olson; three brothers, Tommy D’Andrea, Robert D’Andrea and Stanley D’Andrea; and two nephews, Tommy Powers and Mickey D’Andrea.
Madlyn, who was an avid reader, enjoyed history and music; and working in her garden. Having had an abundance of love for her family and her precious animals throughout the years, she would take every opportunity she had to spend time with them and make precious memories.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Laurence E. Olson; seven nephews, Bertel R. Olson, Robert L. Olson, Michael Powers, David Powers, Jim D’Andrea, Robert D’Andrea and Tommy D’Andrea; and two nieces, Elizabeth “Liza” Everett and Madlyn “Maddy” D’Andrea.
A private celebration of Madlyn’s life will be held at a later date.
