Maggie L. Levi, 87, of Zirconia passed away Monday, February 2, 2009, at her home following a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Ellie Bane, and the wife of the late Herman J. Levi, who died in 1995. She was a member of Bobís Creek Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Levi, Sr.; two sisters, Ida Levi and Sarah Hayes; and a brother, Jenkins Bane.
Survivors include three sons, Spurgeon Levi of Easley, SC, Robert K. Levi of Zirconia, Arnold Levi of Flat Rock; five daughters, Audrey Pace of Etowah, Evangeline White, Rachel Ballard, Doris Metcalf and Rosita Summey, all of Zirconia; two sisters, Grace Maybin and Katherine Corn, both of Zirconia; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary. Revs. Bobby Capps and Ira Daves will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, and at other times will be at the residence of Paul and Evangeline White.
